In my life, patronage is a stage of life. As you get older, have a family, your status here in Central Asia changes. It changes according to age. If you’re older in your group, they will listen to you, respect you, come to you with needs or for advice. I’ve been in this neighbourhood a long time and people come with needs: financial, physical, advice, kids…. It’s been overwhelming often in these past few years, listening to their needs and struggles. I wrestle with God about how to advise them. In the end, it’s Christ who gives them the full knowledge of their value. God gives us our identity.
